Monongalia County Health Department WIC Program staff celebrated the 40 th Anniversary of the WIC Program at their July staff training day. In recognition for their dedication and contribution to the success of the WIC Program, staff received polo shirts embroidered with the WIC 40 th Anniversary Logo. The training agenda included CPR certification, OSHA, Childhood Obesity and Saving the Children/The Story of WIC.
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) provides Federal grants to States for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk.
